Alameda 32 vs Berkeley 30 : October 28, 2010
The Hornets posted their third victory when they defeated a tough Berkeley
team. The first quarter was even with both teams posting 6 points. Berkeley
pulled ahead in the second quarter, with eight minutes left in the half Berkeley
led 6 to 22. Then the Hornet offense and defense kicked it up a notch.
For the next eight minutes the Hornet defense kept Berkeley scoreless while the offense posted 14 points
from two touchdowns and a successful two point conversation. With less than two
minutes in the half the Hornet defense recovered their onside kick and put the
Hornet offense back on the field. Bam!!! The Hornets scored again to close the
half leading 26 to 22.
In the third quarter Berkeley scored again and the teams deadlocked with
Berkeley carrying the 26 to 30 lead deep into the fourth quarter. But those
Hornets know how to close out a half.
After a grueling, tough, drive, the Hornets pounded
the ball into the end zone to re-take the lead with one minute on the clock
32 to 30.
With forty seven seconds on the clock the Hornets sealed the deal when they
recovered their second fumble of the game.
